Chris Chandler For Slam Poetry
Chris Chandler has been spinning stories all over the US and Canada for well over twenty years. He was a member of the first International Slam team representing the City of Victoria and has represented the city of Atlanta along with National Champion Gayle Danley and the city New Orleans. He has been second place in the international Haiku championship twice. He was a keynote speaker at the first iWPS in Greenville, SC 2004.
His unique collage of music, storytelling and video has been a staple at festivals across the continent. His books have been published by Portals Press and his CDs are available on Rounder Records, Prime CD and Silverwolf. In 2000 he began releasing his work on his own label "We Still Call 'em Records." And has over 15 CDs and DVDs to his credit.
He has worked with everyone from Allen Ginsberg to Ani DiFranco and Pete Seeger to Mojo Nixon. Utah Phillips says, "Chris Chandler is the best performance poet I have ever seen."
